Independently
Owned Business
High-fashion quality with small-town charm, NARA is an
independently owned custom-apparel company based in Serbia
and shipping globally. Nataša has been designing since her
early childhood and now sews her clients' wildest couture dreams
into reality with an expert and loving hand.
Each piece is made to order and reflects the decades
of dedication and mastery that Nataša brings to her
art form. She designs for men, women, children, and even pets.
Her attention to detail can be seen in every stitch.
...I provided a brand identity to match.
Statement
About My Work
After scrolling through Nataša's work (and sampling a
gorgeous emrald-green cocktail dress for a friend's wedding),
I drew inspiration from high-end fashion names like
Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Versace.
All iconic labels that have stood the test of time.
All encapsulating elegance with striking, fine-point details.
I created a custom font for the logo design,
which balances thin lines with visual stability.
Pandemic Opportunities
During the 2019 pandemic, Jovana (a professionally trained pastry chef)
cranked up the A.C. and turned her family's kitchen and dining nook
into a garde manger.
This "chill" approach allowed her to continue practicing her work and bringing
sweet treats into the world during a time when it could use a little joy.
To get her off to a good start during her first taste of self-employment
and to set up a springboard for her future goals of
landing a position in an international scene, I hooked her up with
a brand identity that reflects a fresh new-comer; a sleek and
modern logo design; copy for use in future opportunity applications;
and 100+ professionally edited photos for her platform.
A comprehensive product design and development can level-up a brand
to long-lasting heights, unrivalled by even the most decadent sugar-high.
Established Branding
Working with an already established brand is an entirely different animal. Instead of inventing the designs completely from scratch, there are often
strict guidelines on color palettes, margins, font face, kerning and more. The level of detail that can be found in a brand user guide can go all the way
down to the pixel. It takes a keen eye for design to ensure that any final product--be it for web, print, or anything else--upholds the standards set by
the company. The challenge to create something new and eye-catching while living inside of those parameters can be a lot of fun.
Here, I partnered with Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Jefferson County to re-design their delivery trucks.
Re-Branding & Re-Vamping
Sometimes, a company will only have partial branding materials or a few elements that they wish to preserve.
This was the case when I was contracted to work for a plant nursery. Their websites, graphics, and overall presense lacked cohesion and
needed a facelift to go over older, 3rd party frameworks. Their holly leaf logo was a rich piece of their history, and was a must-keep.
Their websites were contracted out and had inherent limitations. Many challenges were presented, but the client walked away with hundreds of new
photos, a few promotional videos and animations, several original pieces of promotional copy, a selection of web-banners to cycle through, complete
sets of scaled social media graphics, magazine covers and more, along with fresh templates for future use!
